Accommodation in Tomar
If you are in Tomar in Estremadura to visit the superb Convento de Cristo there is a reasonably limited number of hotels and residencial to choose from.
Most of the main places to stay are on Rua Silva Pinto and the parallel street Rua Alexandre Herculano.
Recommended hotels in Tomar
Residencial Cavaleiros de Cristo, Residencial Uniao, and Residencial Luz are all recommended. Hostel 2300 Thomar is a hostel catering to budget travellers and back packers.
There is a selection of bars, cafes and restaurants on Rua Silva Pinto and the other pretty streets running off it. Tomar is certainly laid-back and makes for a pleasant and relaxing stay as well as offering the UNESCO World Heritage Listed Convent of Christ on the hill above the town.
