Estádio Municipal de Portimão
Estádio Municipal de Portimão in Portimão in the Algarve is the home ground of Portimonense Sporting Clube. Portimonense S C are presently in the first division of Portuguese football, the Primeira Liga.
The team's best days were in the 1980s when they competed in the UEFA Cup in 1985-86. Portimonense, nicknamed Alvinegros, have been in the top flight since their return as champions of the Segunda Liga in 2017 after having been relegated in the 2010-2011 season. The team plays in black and white striped jerseys.
Estádio Municipal de Portimão has a 9,500 capacity and is situated right in the center of the town. The stadium opened in 1937 with renovations in 2007 and 2010. At present one stand at the ground is covered.
Foreign Imports
The club has had several foreign players in recent years. These are usually Brazilian but the present squad (2022) also includes a number of Japanese players - Shoya Nakajima, Shuhei Kawasaki and Kosuke Nakamura. Previously, Keisuke Honda was about to sign for the club in 2021 but Portugal League regulations regarding signing free agents prevented the move. Fullback Koki Anzai made over 50 appearances for the club between 2019-2021 and played alongside goalkeeper Shūichi Gonda.

The stadium is a 25-minute walk from Portimão bus station and just 15 minutes from Portimão train station on the Linha do Algarve (Algarve Line).
The following local buses stop close to the stadium: #14, #31, #32, #107, #110 and #113.
